This project originated through independent research into the history of fair tales and their complicated ties to women. Though this research I was seeking to answer questions like: What was the context of these stories? How is it are women so prominent to these tales yet still often end up mistreated? Why are we still so fascinated with fairy tales while they no longer represent us as a society?
To explore this, I created a series of 6 posters each focusing on one woman whose storytelling became sources for the Brothers Grimm.
